There’s also a character that is vital to the plot and then doesn’t get a wrap up at the end. Don’t get me wrong it was really good, I was surprised but I wasn’t shocked if you get what I mean. The twist I was not expecting, but maybe because I was looking for something more sinister. The problem was that the hook was so intense and intriguing that by the time I found out what actually happened it was a bit of a let down. The story is told 11 years apart from multiple narrators, but Kubica does a good job of helping you keep everything straight. And then it jumps to another story line and becomes a story about a normal suburban missing persons case. Trigger warnings for child abuse, kidnapping and sexual abuse. Local Woman Missing starts out in a super disturbing way but then gets pretty tame. I enjoyed this one so maybe I’ll check out her backlist books.
